Why I Blog About Anime
Introducing anime to someone who has viewed it as another form of cartoon can be pretty challenging.
- That person refuses to believe that what you say about anime is not what others think, but what you think (as an addition, they think you’re crazy/weird).
- While they think of anime as a cartoon, they don’t think of it as an art form.
- They don’t see/spot any redeeming qualities that separate anime from cartoon.
Which brings us back to the point of this blog. Being an anime fan, I always have that desire to share my interest with the rest of the world. Problem is, if you’re in a country that shows anime (most are in the comedy genre) at a Saturday morning bloc (most kids are watching at this time), the first reaction they’ll show is that it’s a cartoon. You show them some of the more recent titles, and the reaction will be just the same. I plan to change that.
Though I’m not as prolific as other anime bloggers in keeping track of the latest anime series, retelling them episode-by-episode, I’ll try at least to provide you readers with my personal opinions of some of the series out there. Oh, and pardon my lame sense of humor, because it’s what makes me “special”.
