Power Down Your Arms.

You know, if there is some issues that I cannot fathom in the anime fandomverse, it’s the point and intentions of those nitpicking “fans”. (I’m looking at a particular elitist with a JLPT1 under the belt)
Why do they do this?
What do they expect to gain in return for their actions?
What are their reasons behind their decision (and consequent action) to pounce upon those within the lower ranking of understanding Japanese (or better yet, foreign) culture?
We look into this “dorama” here at PPP.
The whole thing started when this guy started to list down particular lines (of his interest, to show his point by examples) where his group’s translations and this other group’s, and he is quite exasperated at the percentage of errors the latter group has committed. Then he goes defending his vested interest in critiquing the said group.
If you don’t understand a single word of Japanese at all, it’s better for you to watch the raws than to watch Nyoro~n. I hesitate to call their release a “translation” because in reality it is closer to being a parody sub. It’s as if the “translator” decided to write his own story because he didn’t like Sunrise’s scriptwriters. If you are a Gundam fan, please, for the love of Haruhi and all that is good, wait for some other group to release. It doesn’t even have to be Mendoi-Conclave……oh wait. Here’s more to say:
I do realize from past experience that most people want to stay neutral and give Nyoro~n the benefit of doubt. This tendency of the majority has buried tons of legitimate complaints against Nyoro~n’s “translations” in the past.We do give the sub group the benefit of the doubt. After all, they came into fruition even before yours became well-known at this point. But let’s not digress into this…
The point of the matter is, just let them know. Do not, and I repeat, do not deface them for the entire blogosphere to see, mock, amuse, or any other intentions on which your actions are a result of. The community respects pride and knowledge, but we will not stand up to this public display of humiliation.
Thank you.
We now divert your attention to your regular anime viewing time.

But drama is always good. There are no stories without conflict. Even powerpuff girls has fights and anger and hatred.

Yeah, I get your point, but wouldn’t that make us whining fanboys? Unless there is a point in this exercise, I would be inclined to agree with your reasoning.

Personally, I think that DM does have good intentions, but he comes off as a complete ass because of the way he presented himself.
That, and the intarweb loev DORAMA.

Well, while we do cater to a wide range of intentions, defacement is not included in the list.
Then again, it all comes down to how that person presents himself, and that is where DM failed. (tnx for pointing out)
