TransFormers: The Animated Series?!

Excuse me wtf r u doing?

This is the exact same treatment the PowerPuff Girls got when it got co-produced in Japan. Cartoon Network had a hand in this, btw.

From ForeverGeek:

There will be 26 episodes of this shit in 2008. Then it will die…because it looks terrible, and isn’t even going to focus on Autobots vs. Decepticons…instead it’ll be Autobots Vs. HUMANS! They’re “reimagining” the Transformers as Super Heroes, and they’ll be fighting human Super Villains. (emphases mine)
What were they thinking?! >:(

Blogroll Call!

Haha. Methinks my blogroll is already crowded with link to bloggers, both non-anime and anime, from around the world. A reorganization is in order.

Direct your attention to the left of the main page and you’ll see what I mean.

I propose a voting poll to determine the method of categorization.

[]Gender []Longetivity []Age (of blogger) []Others (pls specify kthx)
The votes tallied, and the final decision announced some other time. I’ll see what I can do.

Recent Version Even Vulnerable? o.O

… and I thought I was being kind of paranoia. Heh.

From maestro:

I have just learned of a very serious security hole in Word Press that affects all versions (including the most recent). This security hole allows ANY registered user to gain Admin privileges, which allows them to do anything they want to your blog, including deleting all your content, posting spam posts, etc. To close this hole until a new version is released (v 2.2.1 should be out soon and fixes the problem) you will need to disable new user registration on your blogs.

I’ll send out another E-mail once we’re ready to do upgrades after the new version is out letting everyone know the process for requesting their Word Press be upgraded to the new version. For those curious about the technical details of the security hole, read on. For the technically inclined peeps:

This security hole allows for Remote SQL Injection. SQL Injections allows an attacker to insert new data, or modify existing data, in the database of the blog. Basically this gives them full control, as having access to the database trumps anything else. The exploit is not just academic, at least one blog has been attacked with it so far.
I already did my part. How about yours? :)

Guys, Meet Konata :3

In a fit of geekery, I have decided to christen my PC (which has been with me since entering college as a freshman)…

Konata Izumi

She has fun with me as I play games like Starcraft and Ether Vapor (the trial version, remember?) to my heart’s content. She seems satisfied with my suggestion of playing bishoujo games, though. :P

The Truth shall be Discerned, and We are Cleared in View

U.S. officials meet Diet members over ‘loophole’ in Japan’s child pornography law - MSN-Mainichi

In discussion in the Diet, calls have arisen for mere possession of child pornography to be banned, but such moves have been postponed over fears that this will lead to the abuse of authorities’ investigative powers.
Thank Haruhi-sama Konata-sama for the higher powers. (^o^)

This way, there’d be no way we’d get jinxed by the mere presence of “true pedophiles”. We are Otaku! :D

How can you spot which is which, and truth be discerned? Read here. :P

In other news… Movie of the same “tag”, lol.

98% of Wordpress 2.x.x Vulnerable?

I just got word of this just now. Here’s the blog post detailing the statistics of user who are using previous versions. There’s even a small number of users running v 1.2. That’s quite very late in updating, isn’t it?

For those wondering, here’s the survey linked in the post.

Honestly, I’m quite skeptic of these “warning” posts about vulnerable blogs. Especially when you’re running an open source blog software like Wordpress. Still, it’s not too late to be careful, because I’m actually running v 2.1.2, which is older than the latest release from the official Wordpress team, v 2.2

Here’s one post that’s official, from the Wordpress team blog. They also have a post about the latest version.

So, a word to the wise (as well as to people like myself): Update now!

What if Megatokyo Was Animated?

While I was going through Megatokyo’s 1000th (techinically, but it’s not), a lot fo these questions popped into my mind:

  • How would you animate the appearance of Rent-a-Zilla at random points in the story?
  • Would Largo and Erika’s relationship play out as a romantic comedy for geeks?
  • Would the same relationship presentation work for Piro and Kimiko? The story of a voice actress and a “fan” sounds kinda familiar…
  • How would the side stories fit into the main story? You know, the in-game scenarios.
These and other inquiries are currently being written in my thoughts. Readers, how would the Megatokyo universe look, anime style? I’m sure Fred Gallagher himself would approve of your suggestions, if he ever willingly agrees to the idea. :P

Initiative Action Complete

With this out of the way, now nobody can hotlink to images on this blog but me. Get it? XD
