Picture Perfect Paranoia’s 2nd Anniversary
April 29th, 2007 at 6:25 am (Blogs, Miscellaneous)
This blog of mine recently celebrated its second anniversary. Woohoo! If you’re an avid reader of this blog, you would notice that I hadn’t celebrated the first one. So color me forgetful when it comes to these things.
Well, it occured to me, 2 months after, that I missed the first year of Picture Perfect Paranoia’s founding. Drat, I wasn’t so observant of the date in the calendar, I may have to remind myself by encircling the date itself in red marker pen.
I don’t usually write about flashbacks of a site’s existence, especially when where you are publishing this blog post on is, truthfully, a blog about anime. But since this is a bit of history about this particular blog, which is about anime, I feel compelled to tell you, if anyone is reading this either by coincidence or loyalty, how this blog came about.
Cue the tomatoes and other rotten fruits and vegetables.
Okay, now when I first started acquiring this piece of web space, well, actualy a blog, I started it on Blogspot, under the name “Ronin’s Anime Chronicles”. Yes, folks, it was somehow pattered after Maestro’s, Matthew’s and Bluemist’s anime blogs, but since they all have “anime blog” appended to their screen names (referring to the first and last ones, as I have known the real name of the latter), I decided to go for something a bit different. With that phrase already taken, as is “anime study” (taken by someone named Sam), I added “Chronicles” instead of “Blog”, as I already explained was already taken and overused (in my opinion). Thus, the blog itself was born, and the story continues.
Looking through the existing anime blogs at that time (in addition to the three already mentioned), I was diligently looking for some type of content presentation that wasn’t commonly utilized. I saw a few summary-type blog, some opinionated blogs, and a lot of episode-by-episode blogs. Now, as much as I am a fervent fan of anime, I do not have the energy nor the time to plow through every episode of every anime, as the Japanese Anime Industry is a hardworking group of people, so I opted for the minority. That is, a summary type of blog.
Dedication to hobby is a plus is my book, and therefore I tried working to that level. I managed to whip up a lot of good ones (here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, and here), those that fared well (here, here, here, and here), as well as some that were not good for public consumption (here, here, here, here, here, here, and here.). As you can see from the previous posts I’ve made, those are how I made progress in serving the clientele (ooh~ big word XP). It’s been a hit and miss, in a few words. ^^;;
Also, it sems as if I’ve realigned the focus of this blog. Originally intended to be an anime summaries (in essay form) blog, somewhere along the timeline it metamorphosed into a random anime blog. Wnder how far I have gone from there.
So there you have it. Like I said, I’d hate looking back, but seeing how this blog has evolved, I guess it’s inevitable.
I’m still glad that this site has lasted that long, amid a bombardment of comment spam from advertisers of pharmaceutical prescribed drugs, online casinos, and anal sex.

Happy 2nd Birthday! I wish my blog would be able to last this long too. And yes, those spamming comments ARE VERY ANNOYING
