I Just Saw Something Amazing…

I’m not sure if it’s true (I pinched myself to be sure lol), But I swear I saw this yesterday at a department store (which btw is not populated by “enthusiasts” as a hobby shop).

So I was invited to go out by my mom yesterday. I need a time out from books, so what the heck. I decided to go.

When I came, she was with my Grandma, some of my aunts, and my younger sister (who’s about to graduate this week, btw). While shopping for what my sister would wear on her graduation, the rest of us (the female group) decided to go to the restroom. My sister soon went in afterwards, but in a different restroom (there’s more than one accessible restroom per floor, go figure). This left me with one of my cousins (incidentally the same one who watched anime with me) wandering around the Boy’s Toys Section of the store.

When they were all done, they (my mom, Grandma, and aunts) called us back. We are to resume shopping for the rest of the day. As I was about to exit the section, a figure “greeted” me on the way, so to speak.

A DC II Nanaka Shirakawa figure.

As I just passed by it, I was quite surprised. When I saw it, I immediately remembered DarkMirage discussed its release date last year. The fact that such a figure existed (which is a rarity in a department store) made me look back at the last time I heard about it. What’s even more intriguing is where I found it. In the boy’s toys section of the department store. With the other figures I saw there (there were a couple of FFVII figures, btw, as well as some of those I ‘ve never heard of…) What does that imply, I wonder.

And now, as I look back at what I just saw, it left me wondering (in case I bought it), what use would it be to me?. I could just sell it on E-bay after the purchase (and earn something along the way), but since I do not have my own credit card, and my mom handles most of the family expenses, this left me with the decision of foregoing that alternative.

I’m still wondering right now. Should I have taken advantage of it?

Er, it’s not rare. In fact, it’s everywhere.

Honestly wouldn’t have been worth it IMHO; all the Nanaka Shirakawa figures I’ve seen released so far look like crap.

Ah I see. Well this is the first time I’ve seen one (an actual figure “in the flesh”, so to speak) so this is quite a surprise for me.

So I guess I was right in foregoing the decision to purchase that figure. I’m sure there are other figures worth my wallet (well if my wallet won’t whine and be stubborn to me :P ).

Yeah there are plenty of other figures worth your wallet out there, but buying figures is to satisfy your wants. I have that Shirakawa Nanaka figure and I love it very much. If you really wanted it you should’ve bought it, and if you found out you didn’t like it, just sell it.

Ah I see. Well I’ll keep that suggestion in mind. :)

Well I won’t be surprised if you find it in a dept store. But how would you react if you see a bit ecchi type of figurine inside Toy Kingdom which is a toy store for kids? :)

I would be asking the same question, as well. :/ Would you guess it would be “reported” in a nationally read tabloid? Or a newspaper like the PDI no less? ;)

Well.. before someone reports it, I’ll get those figurines first if I got enough funds. :D

the figurines are orig. So they’re in good quality. :D But I’d rather buy those from Japan. :P
