G.A.H: Get Aboard Happiness!

edit: 1 misleading link removed by request

So after a grueling week of schoolwork, I look back to my HD to see if there are any newer titles that need updating. As you can see, I have a long list of them, even the now flat LCD doesn’t do justice to its coverage.

Then I noticed I have a complete series from 2 previous seasons ago left standing in the corner.

Anime Nano Podcast #16: Total Geek Out?

More procrastination attempts by yours truly, in effect delaying trap analysis in Japanese popular culture, as well as supposedly preparing for the Sociology report on Social Stratification and Technology, and Possible “Cures”.

Now on to the podcast. Long reaction.

ROFL jpmeyer’s “fanboy” impression was pure gold. Awesomeness to a level! :P

LOL at the “porn/hentai” searches on Google. Makes my table of search results more sanitized. ;P

So tsun-Hinano = Narusegawa type? LOL. XD

LOL too much “geeking” on Pokemon. So I see you guys share a common history.

Oh man, oh man. jp’s a geek in naval battles, certified. OH-TAH-COO! XD

Love the Hinano-jpmeyer love-hate interaction. :P

Everyone dies? How about Mai-HiME (but that was before the last episode, gah. hate resets!)?

Oh man this podcast makes me ROFLMAO so much I wish my headphones have mouth cups, so that only I would be able to hear out loud. XD

How Do You Blog? A Quick Look into the Whole Anime Blogging “Dorama”

You know after all the battery of tests I’ve taken on one day, I should be blogging about traps, as “promised”. But more work to do the following days, so I better hold back my analytical skills for a while. I take a look first at this bugging (to me) issue.

Hur.

Want to Expose Your Otaku-ness

So instead of studying for the upcoming long quiz in Immunology this week, I had to take care of business. Especially one that concerns the welfare of this site. Oh and I’m still working on that “sarcastic commentary” article on traps, so stay tuned.

Now to the point.

I’ve read a lot of entries on the various other blogs this week, and they were asking for a hosting space in AnimeBlogger. So before you ask, I have one thing to say: Just ask Maestro. I did.

Now I got to go back to work studying.

Hataraki Suichiyon! XD

Women and Traps

If anyone of you guys reading this (well if any), the source of this rather mundane and senseless discussion commentary can be found here.

Foremost, a disclaimer: The following is an attempt at making a sarcastic commentary, according to votes (so few) gathered from this poll post. Pardon the “attempted sarcastic intent”, if there ever is one, lol, as I go over my list of issues to be discussed.

They are

  1. Internet Anonymity
  2. Gender Identity
  3. Homophobia?, and
  4. Unlimited Love Pairings
The actual commentary will be shown when I have time to do so if it weren’t for a week of quizzes on all subjects some other time. Until then.

Google Does Not Remember You

So I was bored, and instead of studying for Immunology for the next week, I’m currently plotting a raid trying to geek out.

So ForeverGeek posted an entry on their site. It’s about Googlism.com, and basically, according to the site’s front page, “find out what Google.com thinks of you”.

So I would compare it to Google Trends, one of their own online services, in keeping track of how “popular” your search terms are on the Net. Frankly I’m a bit disappointed that they don’t know some of the populace that have inhabited the World Wide Web. Yours truly is one such example.

Here’s Matthew, the guy who runs Matthew’s Anime Blog. Ed Bott is a well-known celebrity, it seems. Hey Hung, looks like you’re famous already, lol. Jason, you fail at celebrity status. :P bluemist, or should I say Mr. Malinis. ;)

Holy Guide to Yaoi

Got ya… I think. :V

… and I just caught up with the latest buzz in the world of Japanimation this week. Been a while, hasn’t it?

Buddha in Time - Anime News Network

Ah, so nothing is sacred to the Japanese. (No offense) I believe this is a tribute of sorts to great religious figures in history.

And talks on religion seem to fire up a discussion on what is, and is not, a religion

Poitras on Anime and Manga for Parents - Anime News Network

Hmm, what’s this? Parents now getting a brochure on what really is anime and what is, I think, some of the now elucidated misconceptions on the “genre” itself?

The interest itself seems “interesting”, so I wonder how this Better yet, would this kind of issue be finally resolved among adults, particularly those living as husband and wife, with or without kids?

Discussion should be expected to involve the working class as well.

Some Companies Slacking On License Payments - Anime News Service

So I see there is some disagreements, breeches of contracts and whatnot that occured between licensors and licensee. I guess that could explain the slowdown of releases of new (as well as the old and the legendary) anime titles from Japan, no? I think it may have to do with the contents of the titles themselves, which contain certain trademarked “suits”, like the Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuutsu and Hugh Hefner’s Playboy costume.

Up for Satire?

Hmm. I looked over the results in my previous post, and noticed that a lot of votes were garnered for satirical sarcastic commentary. So, in advance, I write a disclaimer like this one:

I might not be in the same level as lolikit’s, jpmeyer’s, drmchsr0′s, or even this guy’s level, but I will try.
To be honest, I was born as a frank speaker and commentator. So being snarky (or at least trying to be) isn’t really my forte. But, like I said, for the purpose I suppose you’ve noticed my brand of snarkiness when I drop comments on anime-related news that sparks my interest and at least try to be funny in a satirical sarcastic way. Fail or not, it’s the effort I put into that counts. Hmm… sounds like something that should be related to thoughts (cognitive abilities or mental ideas, your pick), right?

Oh, and before I forgot, I already convinced my alter ego to host his own blog instead of competing for space in this blog. So yeah, it’s here.

Also, I need more data, seeing as currently I have a small responses to ponder upon. I know this is kinda demanding, but a favorable response from me would be produced if more people would voice out their opinions. I learned this from Statistics 101.

So the question is, will I go for it, now that demand has exceeded supply? Response is, I’ll give it a go. And if still does not provide the level of satisfaction you expect, well expect me to try more. After all, I’ve dedicated this blog to serve my personal opinions on anything anime-related, whether it be theme songs, video shoots, musicals, news headlines, and whatnot, to my readership.

Right?

Something Fails

You can’t be saved You’ve gone and dug your grave And its getting deeper by the minute Well you had to turn your back Ain’t cutting you no slack Hooked on your lies you had me going

  • Victim by Eighteen Visionshttp://www.animenano.com/blogs/viewinfo/Picture-Perfect-Paranoia

Subscribers: 9 -> 8

Shit. I knew this would happen, but not this early. So it looks like I lost one subscriber, and I think I could speculate where the fault might lie. With me.

Maybe there was a particular reason that person stopped coming over to my blog. Or maybe there was something in my blog that puts him/her off. For now, I don’t know, but I’m motivated to investigate what it is. Until then, the cause remains unknown.

So I’ve thought of putting up a poll listing all the available options (the one below), determining what people like to see in my blog.

Question: What Do You Want To See More?

  • Creative Summaries?
  • Witty Takes?
  • Sarcastic Commentary?
  • Wallpaper Showcase?
  • Anime-Related Article Reviews?
Vote and the poll will be decided this Friday, at the earliest, until next week possibly.

Decision rests on your fingertips.

ADDENDUM: If the preferred option is not among the choices, put it in the comments section, and I’ll see what I can do.

ADDENDUM: Got online early, and fixed removed the voting box and replaced it with a list instead, since there seems to be a problem with the voting machine. Must be defective, lol.. FYI
